Kim Cline from Pro Com Services talks about their partnership with Compass for Kids.
How did Pro Com get involved with Compass for Kids? – Pro Com became involved with Compass for Kids in 2012 through a fundraising campaign we were made aware of by Jay Cook at Marine Bank. Over the years, what started as a single monetary donation has developed into a great relationship where we are able to assist the program and the kids in a variety of ways.
What do you love about being involved with Compass for Kids? – The commitment to each kid that they serve. Our ability to give back and have an impact on the lives of children in need in our community.
What events have you done with Compass for Kids? – We have participated in single donation campaigns, Summer School Challenge fundraiser, being a Field Trip Sponsor, providing workers for State Fair Parking, being a Back To School Raffle sponsor, providing funds to support snacks for an After School Club site, providing dinners to two different Compass sites, providing a Christmas party and dinner for one site and providing Christmas gifts for participants during COVID.
Do you have a favorite story/memory from Compass for Kids? – We helped organize a Christmas Party for one of the schools. We were able to provide cookie decorating, made ginger bread houses, games, dinner, along with a sack of presents for each child to take home and Santa even came with a present from their wish list. The excitement and joy could be seen on each one of their faces. The laughter and joy filled our hearts. The best part of that night, the appreciation from the adults that picked up those children. Why should other companies/organizations get involved like Pro Com? – We at Pro Com are grateful to participate and be part of organizations that serve as strength in our community. Our small staff creates a bond while getting involved. The planning and organization to the delivery or event, our staff is dedicated to making a difference with whomever they serve. The excitement in the children’s faces is something you will always carry with you.
