Club Compass Updates – September 2025
Kicking off a new year!
Club Compass is back in full swing at multiple sites across Springfield! Kids are engaging in academic and enrichment activities, nutritious dinners, and our Backpack Feeding Program.
Each Club Compass day begins with a healthy snack and a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson, followed by exciting enrichment and life skills activities. This fall, our students have already enjoyed a Getting to Know You project to kick things off, plus special visits from Pawsitive Therapy Dogs, Central Illinois Wildlife, Kirk Kellus, SIU Medical Education Group, Springfield Psychological Center, Exotic Animals with Autumn Gibson, the Epilepsy Advocacy Network, and Family Guidance Center’s Too Good for Drugs program.
Every evening wraps up with a hearty, family-style dinner before students head home with a bag of shelf-stable food through our Backpack Feeding Program.
A heartfelt thank-you to our amazing partners and volunteers at Westminster Presbyterian Church, First Church of the Brethren, South Side Christian Church, Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church, and Third Presbyterian Church for hosting and supporting Club Compass this year. Together, we’re making a difference—one Club day at a time!
