Camp Compass 2025: A Journey to Remember

Our adventure began on the runway with Professional Development Day, where our crew of teachers, counselors, and staff came together for a day of interactive workshops, team-building, and final pre-flight checks to ensure a smooth summer ahead. With bags packed and passports stamped, we were ready to soar.

Next on the itinerary was Family Kick-Off Events, where campers and their loved ones celebrated the start of summer with a foam party, food, crafts, and fun. It was the perfect way to fuel up before takeoff and set the tone for a season full of excitement and connection.

Each morning, our young travelers navigated the world of literacy and math with creative, interactive instruction from certified Springfield Public Schools – District 186 educators. Campers were assessed at the start of the program, and a return trip through those assessments will help us measure just how far they’ve come.

Afternoons were all about exploration and enrichment! Campers took excursions to thrilling destinations like Skateland South, Nelson Center Pool, BounceTag, Kidzeum, Adams Wildlife Sanctuary, and Gymnastics Zone, each stop offering its own brand of excitement and discovery.

At camp, enrichment partners helped us soar even higher with engaging activities that blended fun with learning. From exotic animals to kindness projects and STEM adventures, our travelers filled their passports with experiences that will stay with them long after their return.

As we taxi back into the school year, we’re grateful for everyone who made this summer’s adventure possible – our dedicated staff, generous sponsors, community partners, and, of course, the amazing kids who made each day an adventure.

We’ll be sharing a more detailed post once we’ve gathered and reviewed our final “travel reports”, the follow-up data, and stories that reflect the real impact of this summer’s expedition.
