A Season of Celebration at Compass for Kids
This holiday season, each of our Compass sites came alive with laughter, creativity, and joy. Thanks to the generosity of our community partners and hosts, our kids experienced festive celebrations filled with games, crafts, special meals, and unforgettable moments.
Graham — Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise
The Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise hosted a joyful holiday celebration at our Graham site, filling the evening with games, crafts, and a special dinner for our Club kids. The night was made even more magical when Santa arrived to personally hand out gifts, creating smiles and unforgettable memories for everyone.
Harvard Park — CACi Employees Kim Cline & Theresa Casey
Thanks to the generosity of CACi employees Kim Cline and Theresa Casey, our Harvard Park celebration was full of holiday cheer. The Grinch and Santa made a surprise appearance, with Santa handing out gifts to the kids. A delicious dinner provided by Calvary Church made the evening extra special.
Black Hawk — Rotary Club of Springfield South
The Rotary Club of Springfield South brought festive fun to our Black Hawk site with a holiday celebration packed with creativity and laughter. Kids enjoyed a holiday cookie plate–making station, stamping holiday cards, and a visit from the Grinch, all topped off with a yummy dinner shared together.
YLDP — Hosted by MJ Kellner
Our YLDP students celebrated the season with a festive gathering hosted by MJ Kellner. The evening featured a pasta station for dinner, a fun Polaroid photo ornament–making station, and other creative crafts and treats—making it a meaningful and memorable holiday celebration for our youth leaders.
Dubois — Mayor Misty Buscher and the City of Springfield
Mayor Misty Buscher and the City of Springfield transformed our Dubois site into a hub of holiday excitement. Each city department hosted a craft or game station, giving kids the chance to explore, create, and play. The celebration ended with the kids receiving wonderful gifts and lots of holiday joy.
McClernand — Colleen Redpath Feger and the Office of the Springfield City Treasurer
Hosted by Colleen Redpath Feger and the Office of the Springfield City Treasurer, the McClernand holiday party was full of fun and laughter. Kids played games, took photos with the Grinch, and enjoyed plenty of prizes and gifts. A special dinner was generously provided by the Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise.
As we look back on these celebrations, we’re reminded that the greatest gift is community.
